Waxahatchee is coming to Madison!
By Amany Khreis
Waxahatchee is set to perform at The Sylvee this Friday, September 10th, 2021. In 2020, Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield released her fifth album, Saint Cloud, a favorite among critics. Influenced by iconic female country musicians such as Linda Ronstadt and Lucinda Williams, the album tackles Crutchfield’s journey to sobriety. Saint Cloud is an album of growth, recognized best for its sharp, wise lyrics and warm instrumentals. In 2021, a deluxe version of Saint Cloud was released. Saint Cloud +3 featured three new songs, each a cover by artists Dolly Parton, Bruce Springsteen, and Lucinda Williams.
Katy Kirby will be supporting Waxahatchee on her Saint Cloud Tour. Kirby’s album Cool Dry Place was released earlier this year in February. Her phenomenal debut features stand out tracks such as “Juniper,” “Cool Dry Place,” and “Portals.”
Waxahatchee will be requiring attendees to be fully vaccinated, 14 days past the final vaccination shot date. Attendees must provide proof of vaccination in order to be granted entry to the event.
