Fresh off the release of her highly-anticipated fourth album On the Line, Jenny Lewis treated her Madison fans to an honest and fine-tuned performance. The indie rock icon performed new favorites in addition to older hits, all while bouncing across the Sylvee stage in glittering glory.
Although some of her songs deal with heavier topics, Lewis’ performance radiated positivity and good energy. Her years of experience in the music industry was evident in her performance as Lewis showcased immense vocal control. She ran circles around her own melodies and the band kept up; you would never know that is was only the second show of the tour. Despite a costume malfunction that resulted in an extended guitar and drum solo, the performance was one of the best we’ve seen at the Sylvee yet. Jenny Lewis emitted such ease and a carefree vibe that we can’t imagine anyone left the venue in a bad mood.
